Overcoming fear can be a major challenge for many people! This is rooted primarily in an event, or early experience that was never properly addressed. But if that type of fear is deemed unreasonable, it can be overcome!

Courage to Overcome Fear:

To overcome fear we must face it! It doesn’t have to cause nervousness, sweaty hands, shaky knees, or paralyzing effects. There is hope to progress from being fearful to fearing some, to fear less to fearlessness.

Fear is defined as an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain or a threat. While being fearless is defined as lacking fear!

There are way too many phobias to mention, such as aquaphobia (fear of water), and claustrophobia (fear of enclosure). Examples of fear are walking alone in the dark, failing an exam, and touching a statically charged door!

You may laugh, but such phobias are real to the ones who have frightening experiences.

Some people are afraid of the future. It’s said 90% of what is feared will never happen. One President said The only thing we have to fear is fear itself!

Problem-solving Using Fearless Factors:

So before the next panic, create a process to overcome fear! Let’s do the following:

  1. Identify what we are afraid of
  2. Why are we afraid?
  3. How do we react when frightened?
  4. Can we practice a response to the triggers of fear?
  5. Can control our reaction to lessen or eliminate the fear?

Never let fear prevent you from putting necessary safety measures to try something positive and possible to accomplish with others’ support! If others can succeed in an area, you can too!

As an acronym F.E.A.R. means:

  1. A) False Evidence Appearing Real
  2. B) Fail Early And Recover

Wisdom Keys of the Fearless Factors:

Now, note that not all fears are harmful.  By faith, Noah being warned of a pending flood by God moved with fear…. Some people use fear to enslave others, while others use fear to encourage themselves such as not losing a competition!

We should have reverential fear for God. In scripture, we read phrases such as Fear not, Be not afraid, etc. This is because God has not given us a spirit of fear!

Conclusion:

I am not suggesting you should walk on fiery stones, hand-pet a snake or go skydiving as proof you overcame your fears. Finding strength and inner peace that work wonders for you can help your fearless factors! Therefore, you can be strong, and courageous when called upon to be brave! You can be sensitive and smart to avoid unpleasant situations! You can go from being initially fearsome to finally being fearless.
